Can vaguely remember (I think) W Germany beating England at the 1970 World Cup. I was 4. Also remember the US-USSR space station coupling in the early 70's. Was allowed to stay up and watch it iirc. Haven't got a clue what happened yesterday mind.

Genuinely west ham in the fa cup final (4 years and 1 week old). Remember my mum pointing out my dad was there. I remember bits of the parade next day.
Actual news item. John lennon getting shot. Because I thought the name lemon was funny and my mum corrected me and told me not to take the piss because he'd been killed (not the actual words she used)
Earliest actual memory. The morning after my sister was born. My parents left me a tractor in her cot as a present. I was 2

Earliest clear memory I have, is the General Election of 1950. Only because my Father worked/volunteered for Clement Attlee, who was leader of the Labour Party and PM.

Cod wars for me! Not sure why, but I was really impressed by the fishing boats and war ships in massive waves heading each other off. I can still see the news reel of it. Cannot remember any other stories so vividly.

Not sure about news stories, but there was a big item on the news about how you shouldn't drink and drive. Very young me was very concerned that drivers would get very thirsty during their journeys.

Remember the jokes from the older kids on the bus (first or second year riding it) and told my parents, they were not impressed.

I thought it was the ManU Munich aircrash. But I was only 5 months old at the time.
Maybe it was a couple of years later, when something made my Mum cry about it.

I barely give a shit about the news now, so am thinking I definitely didn't give a fuck back in the 80's.
Probably Lockerbie, Hungerford or Dunblane though I wouldn't have cared.
Probably should have been the Falklands as I would have been 7/8, but at that age things like that go over your head.
